FNF Pre Post - February 20, 2009

Hello! Once again I'm here with your FNF hosting reminder!

So far for Team Fortress 2 we have the lovely Ianki and/or CopulatingDuck volunteering to run things for FNF! I don't know their full gameplan yet, but I think FNF is going to move more towards at least some semi-serious play so I would expect a few pickups with alltalk off. I'm not entirely sure what I'll be doing, as there are other games I would like to give a try on FNF. We'll see.

As usual, if there is another game that you want to play/host respond here with your interest and I'll mention it here and in my Destructoid post! Keep in mind however that to get mentioned that you must:
- provide download links/game information when appropriate
- be willing to organize players together for games, hosting if possible
- this can mean a 1v1 game, or even just a group of people on an MMO doing shit together
- give appropriate contact info so people can get a hold of you (steamID, vent, etc)
- be open to the possibility of people you may not know getting a hold of you to play said game
- preferably have a plan in place, other than "let's play <x> game!"

Man, I remember back on 56ks, editing one of the files and letting one player fly any of the transport crafts and another manning the turbo lasers.

I'm guessing that Tf2 FNF will consist of a short 2fort round to warm up to let people stream in, followed by 2 semi-serious fatkid pickups on labor and warpath with a RPS chaser.  Oldschool style.

We'll see. Expect to revisit some old maps (I want to try scorpion again if there's no objections), and/or a few 15-20min pickups, and maybe a few epic rounds of Warpath or Labor.

Might want to try Stronghold_b5, if I recall correctly that was one in the first round of customs

For Worms Armageddon:

1. First off, get a copy of the game.

Torrenting, finding a copy by miracle, I don't care.

2. If you're running vista:
• In Windows Vista, if the game was minimised in the front-end, attempting to restore it would result in a non-functional black screen. Restoring the game now works, but may be complemented by a corrupted colour palette; minimizing and restoring it again usually fixes the problem.

Make sure you have it set in compatibility mode for XP and that it is set to the lowest resolution.

3.Make sure you have the latest patch! 3.6.29.0

4. I'm not sure if torrenting will effect online play, but we can try. Meet in vent right around FNF or later and we'll set up a few matches.

5. Get your banana's ready.

It is. Though I really miss that game, I don't think it'll be worth all the trouble figuring out whether or not you can play it multiplayer.
