For anyone, don't bother showing if you are going to take this kind of attitude toward new people, we are not a private exclusive club, never have been, and never will be. Everyone was new at some point, and Im sure you would not have appreciated it when you first started playing if we took this kind of attitude toward you. If you don't get in right away, that's why we have #2, I know for a fact last week at least 8 people couldn't get in and didn't bother to even try to use #2, that's plenty of people to get a second game going. We might do a password change come March, and I don't really like taking this tone, but we've discussed this before, take a bit of time to get to know the people that you don't recognize, you just might like their company. I know it sucks sometimes if you've been out for a while and come back and its like 'shit who are some of these people', but that's the way things go, if you take a one or two month absence, expect to see some new faces :-*  Sig by Joel |

Unless of course they are assholes, in which case go all out on them. There was one kid who was ragging on karth last night, which is all good, but then crossed the line with the insults. This is when you get a friendly admin show some community love. |

I don't think I'll be able to make this. In addition to still being sick and needing rest for a trip this weekend, I have more than enough things I should be doing.

Can't wait to backstab all you scouts tonight. From the sounds of it, cp_egypt will foster vertical play, and leapstabs are far more tempting than some crazy nuclear beverage.

EDIT: I mean isn't that the purpose of TFT to find new maps to play? I don't think one of the maps on rotation has been around any less than 3 or 4 months.

[/quote] A lot have been put on vote, I just recently did a huge clean our of the maps, to be honest there are some great maps, but most of them not rotation-able either due to size or just not being good enough. They are all votable though, so if anyone one the server wants to try to play them they can RTV. I make the rotation long and people complain, I make it shorter, and people still complain : I know there's no right answer to this so I just try to change stuff up every few weeks to keep people talking, interested, and above all, keep things fresh. I don't want to put too many strange customs on, as when we did that people would never stick around to refill the server. If you do go to a custom, you need something like at least 12 - 14 people in there and no matter what map its on, curious players will come and fill the server up.  Sig by Joel |

the issue with saying just rtv to this is that people inevitibly vote for either the shittiest map possible or one that they have. obviously theres not much you can do for that. basically if a rotation map is on rtv thats what we go to. if not its usualy pl_dustbowl or something equally awful

I think everyone should give new people a chance.
As someone who came into the game and the community really late, I would hate to see someone be ousted or ignored simply because you don't recognize them. I've had this attitude brush up agianst me before (won't name names but someone gave me the big chew-out 'cause they thought I wasn't BRBu) and it felt really shitty. I would REALLY hate for this to happen to someone else. I know what it feels like and I would hate to see this community close down their openness that I was initially drawn to. |
