I will look into such things when I have my own place. Also, hit espresso royale after my chem exam tonight. Small black coffee, actually didn't taste like shit. Made the night a little better, although I'm going to pass out from frustration when I see my test score. I've been thinking about it.
And no, we're allowed to, I think. Either way, they wouldn't be able to do much about it if we weren't allowed to and I wanted one. I have half of a fifth of captain morgan's private stock in our fridge. No one really cares about that stuff. Yeah, I think I'm gonna look at something next time I'm out. Sounds like a good idea. Tea that's strong enough for a coffee drinker such as myself. Giant mug, boiling water, one teabag, and I'm up on my day off. |

Wow, where did this thread come from.
I'm a fan of both coffee and tea so I guess I can spam every day with an instagram of my starbucks cup. Just kidding. I'm drinking some random tea I purchased in China so I can't really recommend it, but I do recommend going with loose leaf over bags! I find loose leaf teas to have better flavor and are much stronger. Oh, and K0ala, you can easily make your black tea into chai if you were craving a change. ask me about mpreg |

I forgot this thread existed. I just got myself one of these:
One of the best purchases I've ever made. Only downside is I'm drinking a lot more coffee then I used to. |

Arise thread!
Since starting med school, I've been finding myself more and more dependent on caffeinated beverages to get me through not just the sometimes 13-hour days, but also the cram weekends where I might burn all of my meager daylight at the desk studying. I kept turning to coffee, but even though I'm finally accustomed to drinking straight coffee, I find that the taste grates after the first 8oz. I also get some pretty bad jitters (and more alarmingly, discomfort in my chest) if I drink more than that. So, I've been drinking tea pretty rapidly since about November. Can get the same amount of caffeine without the jitters, interestingly enough. Plus it's easier to brew than coffee In related news, at about that time I spent some time cleaning & reorganizing my kitchen. I managed to clear out a cabinet which I had intended to designate for liquor. Unfortunately, the cabinet is too short (less than 12") and can't accommodate most bottle sizes. Rather than resign myself to drinking only liqueurs and patron, I decided to designate it instead for tea, and have begun accumulating different teas since then. I think I let it get out of hand. I now have about 7 different green teas, a few black, some oolong, pu-er, and an assload of fruit, herbal, and interesting mate teas. Mostly loose-leaf, and about 5 pounds in total thus far. I'll be reading through this thread for your recommendations. EDIT: I know Teavana isn't popular among some because they overcharge and are really uppity, but this shit has been keeping me alive. It was recently -75% off, so I picked up half a pound for like $10. Maybe it'll still be on sale when they restock...

It's ok Eightball, that is a normal collection of coffee and tea. You have not yet seen my cupboard.
Teavana's tea is ok but super expensive for the quality. I may end up buying some matcha from them just to try. My best teas are all purchased in China so if you ever take a trip to China, buy some tea leaves. Tazo is the worst. DO NOT BUY IT. NOT WORTH. Well, unless you like your mouth feeling minty fresh with every sip. For tea bags, I currently buy Stash and this really cheap brand from the local Asian market (Yamamotoyama or something), but just the genmaicha bags. I love genmaicha. If you haven't had it yet, please do. It's roasted rice tea and has a great flavor. (You can even make it yourself!) I also like jasmine green teas. Eightball, next time you're in Madison, we should go to Dobra and try their teas. They have a great selection. I have a dislike for white teas but if anyone can give a good recommendation that actually tastes like something, I will consider trying again. Everytime I walk by Teavana, they're always promoting their "super ultra deluxe healthy" Silver Needle white tea and it tastes like warm water. Also gimme your coffee recs. I'm currently drinking coffee I've purchased in Puerto Rico but it's going to run out. ask me about mpreg |

Green: "Temple of Heaven" gunpowder pearls.
Black: "Harrods' Blend No. 14" English Breakfast. Mate: "Guayaki" plain loose yerba mate. Coffee: "Copper Moon" Jamaican Blue Mountain Blend. . . . Bath soap: "Con*Tact" Green Tea caffeinated soap. I might have a problem. |
