I still enjoy Dtoid for some interesting reads and a couple of chuckles.
Plus, if it weren't for that site there wouldn't be this site, so it still holds a small place in my browser window. |

For some reason I like Jim's articles. I seem to be the only one.

Also, d-toid is not our mortal enemy, some of the community it brought was detemential to team moral. Most of the founding members of this community came straight from d-toid.
And frankly, our server could use a little exposure again, as players have dropped off. If we can use this as a way to get our FNF's advertised in the main post again then we all could benefit with new members. |

Yeah how does that water cooling shit work anyways? Do I have to replace something or clean it or what? Does that mean the case has minimal fans and stuff too then? Also any good guides software for setting up multi-boot, configuring partitions, etc.? I guess I might leave the Raid0 and use it for software installs, then have partitions for the OSes, and then a general media/data partition on the main drive. heh. I chuckled at how they went all out to build such a fancy system, but only threw 3GB of ram in it along with a generic black optical mouse. and then I remembered:
it's still *way* better than my shit. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( As for maintenance, I hear that the water in a water-cooling system needs to be replaced every once in a while, and regular tap water will not do, but I have no experience with it whatsoever (I don't make enough money to even dream about building a watercooled system). I'd imagine IdiotWithGuns or Blues would actually know something about that though, so you should bug one of them on steam or something if they don't rear their heads here in the next few days. I can't imagine that I'd need more than 3G of RAM for anyways, especially when I'll still be running a 32-bit OS ;P. Moreover, the RAM is fast as shit, and I'm HOPING they'll have the timings configured right with the build. I could never get my RAM to run at it's listed timings without my mobo bitching me out. And tweaking that shit is a nightmare because it would just fail to even post if I screwed with it enough, at which point I had to remove the battery on the mobo to get the bios settings back to defaults ;_;.

I would prefer having a friendly bond with it than a 'we hates them' bond. There hasn't been dtoid related drama for ages and let's not dredge that up again. Signature temporarily out of order until I get off my lazy ass to fix it.

I just think it was fail that the winners of the second and third part of the contest got chosen randomly instead of based on place. Good job with the win, anyway.Â
