Last year, there was no Line Con for me. I walked right up to the guy at the booth, he looked up my name and gave me my badge.  Easy breasy beautiful line con.

Excited for this con, especially since I'll have a damn car. Those of you who parked on Thursday, how bad was it? Is there a time after which I'm SOL for parking? I don't plan to move it once I'm settled in but it'd be prudent to know when's the point of no return.

EDIT: Also contacted Serain about Marxist (in TOH's room). Given that he has never posted here, and that none of us have apparently ever talked to him, I'd be surprised to hear that he's still planning to attend. Still, waiting on a response from Serain (a few days counting...)

ACEN says it doesn't matter what tier you order in for this year since they are sending them all at once.

I was in linecon for 4 hours, and never ended up getting a badge. Avoiding even the risk of it being linecon is worth $2, and if you're that poor then give me your paypal so I can send you $2.

was going to PM you but you're offline. Caff: you guys all gonna be showing up at the hotel on Thursday? Just figuring out if I should tell my boss I want off on Friday AND Thursday. If I were to leave after work on Thursday night I wouldn't get to the hotel until like 1 PM. That's pretty late so I could always leave work early I guess. Anyone have any related comments?

Uhh yeah I don't know how clocks work haha. Would be working til 10 PM normally. give 2 and a half hours for travel + some time to take a dump at home. I could always ask my boss if I could go in 2 hours early and leave at 8 too.

As people begin booking flights into Chicago, its important to know how to get to the con, no one should have to play con-mom this year.


Flying into Ohare (~15-20 min train or shuttle travel time)
- You can take the hotel's shuttle bus from the airport directly
- OR you can ride the CTA Blue line one stop to Rosemont and walk half a block south to the hotel


Flying into Midway (~1-1.5 hours train travel time)
- Get on the CTA Orange line
- Take into the Loop
- Transfer at Clark/Lake to the Blue Line, this requires you leave the elevated platform and go down to the subway
- Take Blue Line to Rosemont
- Exit and walk half a block South to the hotel


Bus to Greyhound Terminal (~15 min train travel time)
- Get on CTA Blue Line stop, Cumberland (Center of the highway, ~a quarter block north of the terminal)
- Go one stop west to Rosemont
- Exit and walk half a block South to the hotel


Driving - Use the Googles


No one should have to play con-mom picking people up or dropping them off, the L is one of the best transit systems in a large city in the US, on par with the DC Metro and NYC Subway, and its one of those cool 'Chicago' things to do while you are in the city

Haha. Yeah I pretty much only have room for a person on there. I have a luggage rack but I don't have any straps for it, my trunk attaches to it.
