I'm planning on being there Thurs-Sun, but I could use some accommodations.

I'm pretty sure I could get off work for the Friday no problem to come down. I wouldn't need a ride; I have plenty of luggage space on the motorcycle now (took it to Ottawa for a week). Cash is the only variable for me right now. I'm currently broke; new truck, vacation, xbox for halo, etc. If I stop spending money like it's going out of style, I should be able to pay my truck loan off in 3 or 4 months. I can't accept anyone giving me cash to come down though, that's not really my style. Also, going back to college in the fall, and fuck if I'm ever going to be able to afford tuition. (60k for Stout, 100k for Madison for 4 years) In the event that I decide I will attend, I can provide transportation for one other person if they are in between the fine city of manitowoc, WI and Chicago, provided they don't mind riding bitch (I have a spare helmet) and only have about a backpack or a little more of luggage. Been a while since I updated this. Added Zaneyard, Greatbacon, and Marxist (from our friends at Exodus Society). A few points for now:
We'll be taking intent to attend as enough for a registration here, since that's honestly the most that anyone can guarantee right now (shy of a room reservation). We should expect people to update us if/when they have to cancel or need to adjust their arrangements. Speaking of which... To clarify, I am not assigning people to rooms. I'm sure the room leaders don't want me telling them who'll be staying in their rooms, and I don't know how everyone relates to each other well enough to make those decisions. Honestly I hadn't even entertained the thought until a couple people asked about that. Room assignments should more or less be coming from the room reservers, having confirmed with the guest beforehand. Lastly, I'm pretty sure I'll have more than one friend from NU joining us this time around. If they plan to stay for the whole weekend, I'm pretty sure my room slots will be going to them before BRBU people, sorry . Pretty much confirmed 2 at this point, with 2 more taking interest. EDIT: I don't expect a whole lot to get rolling until around the turn of the year. We have plenty of time, so don't stress over anything (yet). Also, we haven't yet received any requests for funding, be aware that it exists for the community's benefit.

Bump. Current headcount is 30, with a capacity of up to like 50. Either we should get more people reg'd, or maybe TOH should downgrade his VIP suite (to be honest I might recommend that either way, I thought the point of a VIP suite was to have a single party central).
Updating the previous list a bit: Rickrambo Liquid Tracedarkwind(?) Whendilin I'll also be generating a list of other BRBU members who, despite not attending in the past, we'd love to see this year. I'll probably be contacting them personally to discuss if they'd be interested or if they'd need funding (because we still haven't had an applicant yet!). |

Update: so I signed up for classes for next semester, and at my research professor's behest, I registered in a class that meets and has a lab on Fridays until 3pm. I still need to contact the professor to see if there's any way I can skip or retake the lab later, but it looks like that means that I'll need plane fare for at least the ride there, and maybe I can still drive back home with at0m and crew?
My only other class besides that is on Thursday until 12:30, so if I do successfully negotiate with the professor for no class that Friday then I'm still possibly in for road trippin'. I probably won't have that opportunity until the actual class starts and I get my hands on the syllabus, though. |

Thanks, but that's not just at Rutgers; it's usually the case that you can't miss labs at all if you want any sort of good grade in a university science class. >_>

Faculty also seem much more willing to give you a bye if you're a good student whose making the effort to get things squared away ahead of time. And if for whatever reason said professor takes themselves way too seriously and can't throw you a bone, there's always the option of going over their head and speaking with a dean, as most any dean can request said bone be thrown, albeit a bit more "firmly."
