2012/08/15 mumble room reservation meeting minutes:

Doubles cost about the same as kings (although kings are slightly cheaper)

If we can get two panoramas (like old balls), we can try to get them together, along with any kings, and cap a whole tower.
- alternate is to try for a presidential suite, this is probably the preferred plan.
- or we can just get rooms in the side towers, which would be super duper better (for everyone) there are two presidentials in that tower, plus a cabana (like caff's last year) per floor.

last year was relatively drama free, which was good. Hopefully next year will also be good.

Attendance will be about the same, or more

Groupme needs more moderation, too many people can send to it (can we limit send permissions to the group? WHERE ARE YOU CHEESE WE NEED INFOS)

HeK creates a room leaders Groupme and ninja invites a bunch of people.

Events: party party party (one every night)

Group cosplay: can't compete hall cosplay with TF2, but we will be wandering around in it

Other cosplay ideas - magika, pokemans, etc (if anyone gets in a group, ENTER HALL COSPLAY)

RESERVING ROOMS - RESERVE ONE IF YOU CAN BUT YOURE NOT SURE IF YOU CAN GO (asterisk asterisk)
- Will probably need at least two suites, plus three or four regular rooms

Why did Otakon open reservations nearly a year in advance when ACEN didn't?

Group Reg - We're not going to bother, not worth the effort.

Any ideas for masquerade? Or events?

BOOKING PRIORITY FOR THOSE WITH CREDIT CARDS:
- Presidential Suite (hugenormous room that none of us have seen but is hugenormous)
- Panorama Suite (like old balls), since if we get two, we can smush them together
- Cabana Suite (like caff's room)
- Double
- King

*NOTE* book a suite if one is available, even if it's not what you want or you don't have the means to finalize the booking. We'll transfer the reservations to Moneybags people (Caff/at0m). Post on the boards or on IRC once you get your reservation so that we know when we've gotten 2-3 suites, then everyone else can go for doubles

It looks like GroupMe permissions are basically all or nothing, with exception of kicking people and deleting the group which can only be done by the group creator. My suggestion would be to create a second "Announcement" group or something like that along side the original one which would be the designated not spammy group for people who want mute the OG spammy one. If people start spamming the Announcement group then we can kick them and they still have some form of contact at least.

That'd probably be best. But it would also be even better if people could just not spam the GroupMe with junk. Probably 50% of messages were meaningless.
