Yeah, that went dry in the middle, too.  If you actually skip a few books, it makes the series better.  Still worth the read, though.

I'd say read em all anyway. Yes there are some pronounced quality dips but overall the series is good IMO.
^this. I know where Rummy's coming from, and I had a similar reaction, but I read them regardless.

I planned to read them all anyway. I am not about to drop out in the middle of a series because someone said they didn't like it.

Taking a break, reading more of the Sookie Stackhouse stuff by Charlaine Harris.

Trashy? Probably. Endlessly entertaining anyway? Oh my, yes.

page 84, and I think I feel confident in calling this to be a must-read for this community. Let's just say the plot revolves around the internet, all video games ever, 80s movies and music, and D&D.

Important update regarding this book: the author hid an easter egg in the novel and is giving away a time machine to the winner.

Dammit, I'm out of books to read.

Knocked through the following books: The two Guild Wars books, the Monster Hunter International series (Surf you would like these since they're kind of like the Dresden Files) and the latest book in the Iron Druid Chronicles, Tricked (Surf you would also probably like this series and they're pretty quick reads)

I've got that sitting around somewhere, just haven't gotten around to it.

Been reading the Discworld books instead. I'm on Eric now, actually.

I've managed to read all of them, unless a new one has come out in the last few years (which it probably has).
Three have come out since 2009. I hadn't read any of them prior to a few months ago, and now I'm on #9 of 39 (in order of publication)

Picked this up at a used bookstore for what's perhaps the first book I've read for leisure (i.e., not for a class) in a year. It's pretty good, though everything I've read so far is largely just historical context. Can't say I'm crazy about how the author anthropomorphizes cancer, but it certainly makes it a bit easier to read.

I just started 50 Shades of Gray. I've already made it through the first sex scene pretty much intact.

Since I new what the book contained I get a laugh out of thinking of people who just picked it up because it was a #1 best seller and had no clue what was in it. I do wonder if it will ever made into a unrated movie or x movie and show in theaters.

Apparently my mom knows what pages the sex scenes are and today she asked what page I was on and she was like "Your just in the heat of things" which was true because I was in the middle of the first sex scene.

I like to wonder what ladies in book clubs discussions would be like. It actually kind of pains me because I wasn't raised as a girl because of my biological sex and that hinders my experiences I've had. I just hope that someday I can feel like a completely natural women.

Woo hoo ACEN here I come.

Quote:We can never know what to want, because, living only one life, we can neither compare it with our previous lives nor perfect it in our lives to come. [...] There is no means of testing which decision is better, because there is no basis for comparison. We live everything as it comes, without warning, like an actor going on cold. And what can life be worth if the first rehearsal for life is life itself? That is why life is always like a sketch. No, ‘sketch’ is not quite the word, because a sketch is an outline of something, the groundwork for a picture, whereas the sketch that is our life is a sketch for nothing, an outline with no picture.

Einmal ist keinmal, says Tomas to himself. What happens but once, says the German adage, might as well not have happened at all. If we have only one life to live, we might as well not lived at all.

never before has the opening chapters ever make me want to read the book as fast as this one. almost finished, such a fantastic novel
