After much wrangling, I will manage to eek a Chicago trip in on my way westward for a work trip!

I'll be coming in Friday night late (had to fly into Midway to get a reasonably priced ticket for a 3 leg journey, FUUUUUUCK), Will be shuttling to to OHare flying westward Sunday afternoon.

I will try to bring Space Core (getting it into carry-on form may require some trickery) and I will def bring Sniper & Ellis (no Uzi this year).

Is there any space for Friday/Sat nights? I am good for my share of the room.

Hey guys, to bolster hype and provide some info for first-time con goers, here's a packing list & general guide that should apply to just about everyone going. You really, really should be well-equipped for this 3-4 day party, but you don't want to be a pack mule either, so I'm limiting this to about one suitcase's worth (costumes aside)

Clothing
Bring a set of clothing for every day of the con. Seriously. And make sure you have a pair of comfortable shoes, you'll be on your feet for maybe 14 hours per day. Don't rely on your cosplaying shoes/boots either, it's heaven when you take off those combat boots and slip into some sneakers. An umbrella might be a good idea too, but let's hope the weather's nice to us. Try not to bring jewelry.

• Casual Clothing - Top, Bottom, Socks & Underwear. Double the socks if you're cosplaying.
  
• Good fucking shoes
  
• Pajamas - If that's your thing. Do what it takes to make yourself comfortable to sleep.
  
• Rave garb - Not my area of expertise, maybe someone else can chime in.
  
• Umbrella & Outerwear - Check the forecast in a few weeks
  

Personal Care
Previously, the hotel was well equipped for toiletries, but with how we're overcrowding rooms, bringing some extra shampoo or soap may be an ok idea. Might also be practical to coordinate someone having some first-aid, but with my history I'm the one who will probably need it...

• Contact Solution & Tray - If you need it
  
• Combs/Hair care products - Seriously, every con I go to I forget to bring a fucking comb, and it sucks!
  
• Deodorant
  
• Extra Glasses/Contacts - Last year nearly claimed my frames (long story). Have a spare.
  
• Feminine Hygiene - Super not my area of expertise!
  
• Makeup/Perfume/Cologne - Optional but nice.
  
• Medication - Your personal meds, and maybe some painkillers or cold medicine.
  
• Shaving Gear - Razor, Shaving Cream, etc. Use your discretion.
  
• Toothbrush/Toothpaste
  

Electronics
I actually strongly recommend not bringing many electronics. This is a time for partying & socialization, you shouldn't have many opportunities to piss time away on your laptop, plus it's one more item to keep track of or potentially be stolen. Someone should have a sound setup for the room parties, and asides from that we won't need much.

Food/Drink
ACEN's pretty busy from start until end. We may not always have time to stop for meals, and what we get may not be the healthiest. It's smart to pack some healthy snacks for yourself, bring enough to keep you alive for a couple of days if all else fails.

• Cereal Bars/Trail Mix/Fruit Snacks - I'm planning to bring a fair supply again. Focus on foods that give you a blend of complex carbs and protein, and pack tightly.

• Sports Drinks/Water - You'll be glad you have them the morning after. And every time you come back to your room after cosplaying. And coming back from the rave. And...

Bring multiple sources of funds. Don't keep all your money in one place, and don't carry all of it on you at once. I don't remember if rooms have safes, someone refresh my memory. Not sure what else should go here so I'll break the con down by cost

• Room Costs - Anywhere from $50 to $200 depending on what room and how long you're staying.
  
• Food Costs - $50-$100, depending on if you want to be lazy and eat at the hotel restaurant often.
  
• Merchandise Costs - Totally on you. Most of us didn't buy stuff last year.
  
• Sleeping Mat/Bag - We are retardedly overcrowding rooms. You're going to be on the floor at least once. Talk to your roommates to see who can bring what
  [li]Cosplay Repair Kit - If you're costuming, it pays to be prepared. I'm bringing a kit with safety pins, hot glue, super glue, basically everything one would need to get a damage costume presentable in a jiffy. You should too.
