We Have a Server.

Since it's never even been properly announced afaik, we do have a real BRB server for L4D.  However the integration with the game is sort of shit, so there is no proper way to access it.  And nobody even knows how we can change game types on it, because you can't go from the game lobby to the server.  So is there some way we can actually make use of this server for playing on?  Is there anyway we can access the server to change it's settings and make use of it?  Right now it's sort of useless, because it's just on whatever settings it was left on last.

And you can open the server browser by going to console and entering "openserverbrowser" and add it to favourites as usual.

I know the server is there smartass, where the hell do you think I copied that info from?  My point is we can't use the fucking thing.  The lack of integration with the lobby right now is bullshit, so I wanted to know if there is some other way we can change the server settings.

Has been shaky at best.  I remember trying to vote change difficulty on a map, and it would reset everytime we went to the next area.  And votechanging maps led to shit crashing and everyone disconnecting =/  .  Didn't they say you supposed to be able to link servers with something else or other somehow?  I'm just really frustrated with the instability of the game, I got kicked out of everything I tried to play today.

You can but the feature is buggy and argues with a lot of other variables.  Basically you add a command sv_search_key xxxx into the server.cfg but you got to take out all the steam group stuff.  Then before you start a lobby you type sv_search_key xxxx in console and it is supposed to link up with the server with that key.  We can try it, I mean the steam group stuff doesn't seem to work for a private server anyways.

Tried it and it seemed to break the server.cfg (I got in and changed the map and the difficulty was normal) so I deleted it.  Might play with it a bit later if I find some answers.
