I'm happy it's running well.  Ping is nothing to write home about but as long as it is running without hiccups it has accomplished what I wanted.  It should still be up assuming I did screens right (ainmosni is still teaching me things).  As a warning it will definately be down wednesdays and thursdays from 8-10 and possibly random other times so but if it isn't up and you need it just shoot me a message.

ping lag isnt really even an issue in this game , i dont notice much of a difference between red and green

Full server is up  Ip and pass are the same.  It is also brb4dead exclusive is if you aren't in the group join it now.  If you are in the group it should show when you start up.

Valve really dropped the ball on this release... I _KNOW_ I configured my server correctly, everyone else who has seen the config agrees. It looks like it has something to do with the NAT handling... I posted the problem to the forums and I'll check later... this is too much of a bother....

If you can test my server and tell me what the result is also tell me what its named as I'm getting a "can't execute server.cfg" error which I am choosing not to believe or I think it would be full with randoms now.

So if you do connect (yay!) check the name of the server and if it is locked (I passworded it with alsococks in the server.cfg).  I'm officially not fiddling with it anymore past this until either a valve update or some help from the linux server steam forums.  But I will leave it up as is just in case someone figures out how to get in.

Couldnt you solve half of these problems by just running like windows server 2003 or something until a proper linux server is available?

No. The Windows SRCDS, especially for l4d, has been so much worse.

Yea there is a fix listed but its retarded and causes more problems than it fixes.  Especially since it won't use the right internal IP where I opened the ports.

I'm just going to wait this one out.
