Yesterday (during my 5.5hr drive from north-central WI to chicago) it rained, so I was unable to take advantage of the convertible I'd rented.

This morning, I was supposed to return it, and it's a nice day out.

Top down, sirius on (chillout station), took my time driving over and felt like not a single fuck was given. First time I've ever driven a convertible with the top down. Feels good man.

Chrysler 200 convertible, with a semiautomatic transmission. Manual cars are almost impossible to find as rentals in the states.

what did you think of the 200 overall? I sat in one at the Auto Show and I thought the interior build quality was pretty dismal for a car that was supposed to bring Chrysler back from the depths.

[/quote]My first car is a 97 Olds Bravada, and my second a 95 Audi A6. They're the only two cars I've ever owned, and I still own them, ya dig? I don't have much basis for comparison. But I'll try.

It was decently roomy for a 2-door, in the front at least. The instrument cluster is decently organized, although the wheel controls and the stalks take an awkwardly large amount of force to 'click over' for turn signal, and unintuitive for wipers (down for mist, but twist for wipers, if you push it up you'll feel like it's going to break off). I don't like paddle/trigger-mounted radio controls with no labels on the steering wheel, but the satellite radio audio quality was good even with the top down. I know a car is not a good place for an audiophile of any sort, but it sounded decent. I was disappointed (but not surprised) at the fact I couldn't fit a suitcase in the trunk, then realized afterwards that if I was driving with the top up I could've folded up a plastic guard in the trunk that's used to separate the roof from the cargo space to more than triple the cargo space. The trunk door itself was awkwardly heavy due to the mechanical equipment related to the roof.

Driving-wise, it was pretty snappy, responsive to gas/brake etc although I didn't test out the semiauto transmission. I think they're stupid. If you want the 'feel' of driving stick, drive fucking stick.

I considered getting a Charger SRT8 when I was looking for cars but I ended up getting the BMW since it was cheaper.
