I would say that I am sufficiently settled in. In fact, I have all boxen unpacked, a feat I have not previously been able to achieve in the past 6 or so moves.
We should compare calendars, the first half of July also looks rough. |

Replaced case fans, and updated BIOS to fix some memory issues. In the notes it also changed some 'cpu thermal' settings so my cpu is about 5-7 C cooler than before. Used to idle at 30 C, now it's 23 C. Pretty happy right now. ^^

My rig was randomly rebooting yesterday. Suspecting heat, I checked the video cards; sometimes I hate being right, because they were both 50 degC at idle. Mother fuckers.
Opening them up revealed that the thermal paste on their stock fans had hardened. This morning I went to Fry's, got some Zalman VF900Cu graphics card coolers, thermal paste, and cleaner. I cleaned the dies to a mirror finish and applied just enough paste on both sides. My hands were shaking as I buttoned it all up because holy shit it's 1:30 P.M. and I need lunch. Cards are now reporting 35 degC. Job well done. 8) EDIT: WHOO it's a problem, yee haw. CPU suspected. Cleaned it off and gave it some new paste. Bunged it back in there. Still having this mystery heat problem.
