My wife is visiting her sister so for my first home cooking experiment I'm going to pan fry a chorizo sausage with some chopped onion, then throw it into a pot of black beans. Season the shit out of that then throw that on top of some yellow rice.

If you want to have a little fun with it, take the chorizo meat out of the casing and mix it in with the onion. Deglaze it chicken stock and then add the rice. Make like a meat and onion risotto
