LAN Backpack

I'm looking for a good backpack or "LAN pack" that can carry my mouse, keyboard, cables, switch, headset, power strip and such.
I have a standard 105 Key board and that's all i ever plan on getting.
I googled LAN backpacks and came up to one of these http://www.frozencpu.com/products/2784/h...31c187s430
says it holds a 19 inch length keyboard
anyone ever used one of these?
anyone have any other recommendations? one of my friends uses a laptop carrier, but i have never used one nor handled one to know how it would work.
what do you guys use?

I just throw everything in a duffel bag, the only thing worth buying are straps to carry a case IMO

Sunbeam LAN bag, I got one from xioide.com or something like that for 15 bucks. There's no actual place for a keyboard, but if you slid it between the case and the bag, it fits snugly and doesn't fall out (I carried it on a plane and it was still secure on landing).

We used to LAN quite often; I found that just a regular bag of some sort was usually more than enough, and was generally cheaper as well. Never had any problems with my messenger bag or laptop bag (it's a large one, fits my keyboard, mouse, headset etc etc).

Other side has a bunch of pouches that fit mouse, wires, headphones, etc., and you can slid the keyboard in. Can be changed between a should strap or a backpack strap setup. Pretty nifty and cheap.

I just use my regular school backpack, and carry my PC/monitor in my arms.

I still think a real backpack is more useful; a LAN backpack is useful only for one thing whereas a normal backpack has multiple uses.

Good luck fitting a computer in there without the thing bursting at the seams.

That being said, if you LAN, there's no reason NOT to get a bag like this. It's better suited for seperating things than having a gigantic bundle of wires, everything rides the side so they're not sitting on the floor, it carries the PC without any risk of bursting and a lesser risk of you dropping shit, and you can hold it on your shoulder and a monitor in the other arm meaning one trip instead of several. If it was some 60$ specialty product, I'd be inclined to agree, but hell if you can generally even find a decent quality backpack for less than 20$, much less something that will hold a PC + peripherals for 14 bucks.

I just used a massive hockey bag that I stole from my brother.
Mind you, when I was lanning everyone had CRTs, and I was rocking the dual-19"ers  with a 32" full tower on wheels.

I'm pretty sure I was hauling around 120 lbs of gear. It would take four trips from my car to whatever table I took over.

It was also extra lame when you were running LAN parties on the weekends and we had to carry around the switches and the breakout box as well.... Lots of heavy gear, but I don't think it's the norm for most folks.

I tried fitting my keyboard in my school backpack, didnt work

i have a duffel bag, but it is too big and is kinda overkill for my moniter and keyboard

as far as fitting a case in there, i dont need it for that, just keyboard and all the little nic-nacs, maybe a monitor
i can carry a case and monitor just fine, one in each hand, if everything else is on my back

i carry all my stuff in a plastic bin (keyboard/mouse/cables/monitor) and carry the tower in one trip.

I one-up this, basically. When I LAN I use a messenger bag with a laptop sleeve, which is BARELY big enough to stuff my 19" monitor into it, then I shove my keyboard/mouse/cables in the big pocket. My tower I carry in my arms and then I'm done. I wouldn't trust my tower to any sort of bag at all, especially one with an open bottom like that.

Remember fanny packs? Remember the stupid clips that kept them on? Remember how they used to randomly come undone? Would you trust your PC to one of those? I thought not.

The specs are right below it on the link, though the dimensions are in mm not inches. According to the site, your case won't fit, but I just shoved a box that's 24x8x20 in there and it fit, and that's a bit longer than will supposedly fit in there, so it might. I believe Sunbeam makes a larger bag that uses steel clips for monster full tower systems, but I don't know where they sell it at. Also, my bad on the keyboard thing, I forgot the big pouch is supposed to be for a keyboard, but mine is an akwardly wide keyboard so it doesn't fit properly and I just ended up sliding it in the bag between the straps and the PC. If you're not interested in something that carries the PC though, this really shouldn't be a difficult thing, just grab the first bag that's big enough for your keyboard from Wal-Mart and start lanning it.

Just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Why take risks with your PC.

Remember those stupid key chain belt clips? Remember how they used to randomly break? Would you trust yourself several hundred feet above the ground while mountain climbing to a similar clip? Sure, because the ones used for mountain climbing aren't cheaply produced. Same applies to the clips on this bag. When I first got it, because I'm so paranoid about damage to my comp, I put in a cheap 10 year old desktop that's been in my closet for god knows how long, went outside, and literally spun the bag in full circles a la around the world yo-yo. The clips didn't so much as bend. I've carried this thing through airports on 4 seperate occasions, and have used it EVERY time I lanned since I got it like a year ago. So yeah, I trust my PC to it. Even if it does by chance break, it's dropping half a foot to the ground from my shoulder instead of 2-4 feet out of my arms.

Exactly.

In all the years we ran/attended lan parties, I have only seen ONE such gaming backback (we gave it away as a prize and that person never used it as far as I know) and I have NEVER heard of anyone dropping or breaking their monitor, computer, or pheripherals. We would have 100+ attendees regularly and this was never an issue.

If you want to spend the money on that bag, go for it.

i dont have problems carrying it, i just need something to store all my parts safely so i dont end up dropping stuff like last time
