[/quote]Yes, but at first dawn of war only had 2 races, space marines and orks (so they're off to a better start, plus tyranids are the best anyway )

yep! and the Tau (one of my fav to play as). i guess they're just starting out with 4 again rather than reworking all the races in one go.

@ Squishy, i thought DoW came with Space Marines, Orks, Eldar, and Chaos at the start?? then winter assault -> Imperial Guard, dark crusade -> tau and necrons, soulstorm -> dark eldar and sisters of battle.

Most of the C&C/Red Alert had two races. Even Starcraft has only three races. Bitch bitch bitch...

Except the Warhammer 40k universe has a ton of major players and to leave stuff out just seems like you are wasting what could be more cool stuff to add on, whether it be in the base game of an expansion.

Add chaos marines and I might consider playing this more than the few times I tried it at a lan and got my ass handed to me.

caff, just try the beta, it comes out on the 28th. Not to mention before the official expansions come out people always make race mods (like somebody made a Tau mod before Dark Crusade, there's tyranid mods, etc.)

also, apparently dawn of war 2 is shipping with four races, space marines, orks, tyranids and eldar.
