I think Caff sort of has a point. I can't think of many FPS games that came out in the last ~4 years I like either. And I never even played PC games until 2002 or something. I mean really once you get past that 2003-04ish range, not a lot comes to mind. Probably not a coincidence either that almost any FPS since then has been developed for console at the same time.

Ive said it before and Ill reiterate it When you develop an FPS game, do what valve does, you make it for the PC first, then you port it to consoles. If you go the other route, you end up with a flaming pile of dookie (ref: Unreal 3, Shadowrun). If you go PC-> Console you get a good product that is workable and enjoyable for all (ref: l4d & Orange box). Seriously, you can't even adjust VIDEO settings in Unreal 3, what kind of shit is that  Sig by Joel |

[/quote] Somewhat true, it's not exactly a standard multiplayer FPS, so I don't think just plain having servers to browse really works anyways. Since I don't consider it a game you can just jump into the middle of the round of, unless you're dicking around. The lobby thing in some format was sort of necessary. The problem is linking the lobby system with your own servers is sort of lacking at the moment. Thats what I just remember someone else saying since I haven't even bothered to play it after watching some gameplay videos. Maybe they just got lost in the menus, or maybe they were referring to having more control over the video settings. Like instead of just setting low-medium-high-ultra they would like to be able to set the actual number of AA passes the card makes. Â Sig by Joel |

To think that eventually there will be a day when every FPS will just be a super generic consolized pile of garbage. Heck, if that silly Halo RTS catches on, we will even see our precious RTS genre get bastardized. Dark days ahead. Oh, add Serious Sam: Second Encounter to that list and you more or less got mine.
