Anyone here except me a big fan of the total war series? I love the single player campaign in rome and medieval II but never played it against someone else... Maybe time for a game sometime?

Big fan of the games but I was never one to enjoy it in multi player. I remember with Shogun Total war some guy bitched at me because I set the weather on random. It ended up raining and he couldn't use his riflemen. Then in another game my friend just had an army of war elephants and despite having archers/skirmishers in a loose formation the war elephants decimated my armies anyways. Regardless if I ever get motivated enough to put Medieval 2 back on my computer I would be up for playing. |

I've played the Original Medieval and I think it's pretty fun, the combination of resource management and battlefield strategy is interesting. I look forward to picking up Empires sometime in the future, It's always been one of my secret dreams to be the heartless king of a colonial empire.

Tried Medieval Total War and found it to complex (I think that makes me part of the problem. ) Enjoyed it though, especially using Camels as the Egyptians.

Thats what disappointed me though. For how accurate the game was with history Elephants were quite unstoppable. Spread out skirmish units would usually harass elephants enough to cause them to panic or be unstable. all my middle ages history knowledge comes from copious amount of time playing age of empires 1 and 2
in aoe1 , you play Hitties. their catapults and horse back archers were fearsome in aoe2 you play Bretons, 200 english longbowmen could stop anything |
