This game sucks. However it's awesome to make shit in.
Oh and Karth, incase you hadn't noticed, that's how this thread was started. Well of course you hadn't noticed, you need Kotaku to tell you the obvious. (09-11-2008, 05:11 PM)Dave link Wrote:i would totaly ride that gay ass dragon thing.

I can just imagine what will happen. Maxis opens it's letterbox, and it's full of $50 checks addressed to Maxis only (so no EA befuddlement) with a note in the letters saying "Pirated, but thought you guys deserved this"Â

I'm sure if you sent them an envelope full of cash they wouldn't send it back and say "I'm sorry, we won't accept cash sent through the mail!". I'm sure they would take it. |

You can bet if you send a check, men in black suits with sun-glasses will show up at your door with a subpoena for copyright infringement.  Sig by Joel |

*sigh*
Anyways I have a better idea, why not just donate the $50 to child's play in Will Wright's name? This is better for many reasons: you would actually do this instead of the other, it's easier, if will wright got the money he might be hard pressed using it what with legal and tax issues (assuming he got enough), I bet Will Wright would like the gesture, suspicious unmarked envelopes could spark some terrorist hunts - your special efforts may prevent them from knowing its filled with cash but they also won't know its not filled with anthrax. Although that would make for exceptional television. Also Child's Play is a great charity, take it from someone who spent a large chunk of their childhood in a hospital (for my little brother who was born with biliaryatresia [not going to bother checking the spelling]), stuff to do is greatly needed at the hospital especially things that will bring people together and that everyone can enjoy no matter what their range of motion or mobility. |

I'd rather just buy the game legally and support the evil empire then have to go to the trouble of finding an ISO, burning it to disk, and getting around all the loopy DRM they've put into it, which probably makes me part of the problem
How much money does Maxis make off of Spore though for every sale though? I don't mind giving money to EA, but I wan Maxis to get most of it, since I'm rather fond of them. |
