Seeing where a bunch of sci fi ideas in movies, games, and books got their inspiration from was cool. The unfiltered, rough writing style is an interesting change of pace from my usual reading, but it also makes it a challenge to keep track of who everhone is and what different future-terms refer to. It sort of tosses you straight into their world unceremoniously and lets you figure out what everything is.

I finally finished The Difference Engine. It's an overrated pile of shit. It becomes extremely disjointed as you switch viewpoints between characters with little respect to the established time line.
Above all, you can plainly see which parts are Gibson and which are Stirling.

On Gibson 's works, he gets better with each book. The last trilogy is very good.

After the difference engine, I started with Do androids dream of electric sheep. I have forgotten how good Philip k Dick is.

Phillip K. Dick is fantastic.  I have a collection of his short stories and would say that while some are more forgettable than others, pretty much all of them are solid in concept and execution.  I don't remember the title, but one of my favorites is essentially an inspiration to the terminator series (robots that look and act like people).

You should read Android's Dream, it's an interesting piece of quasi-metafiction with a bunch of references to PKD's work.

I read all of those last year, the first one is a little mediocre (and some in the middle are as well), but overall they're very very good. I was laughing my ass off at jokes that I couldn't figure out how to explain to anyone I knew who hadn't also read them, was good times.

[spoiler]my favorite character overall has got to be Death's granddaughter Susan Sto Helit, for sure. Also, Michelle Dockery makes her eminently boneable in the live-action made-for-TV specials she's in. Also, dat hair, unf. Both Granny Weatherwax and Tiffany Aching are pretty boss characters as well.[/spoiler]

I'm starting from Mort and doing the Death timeline first, since it was seeing Death quotes that made me want to read them in the first place. I'm using a fancy 'chronology of discworld' chart to make sure I stay on track though, so it's all good.

I'm reading Name of the Wind. Again. I have a problem.

Also going through Market Wizards (1988 edition) and its absolutely fascinating. If you have a decent amount of base knowledge about the stock market and would like to learn how to make money in it, that's a good place to start.

have found a staggering amount of free books in the kindle store to read, problem i dont know where to begin with some of them.
Most of them are shitty romance novels, and as im not didzo i dont care for that kind of literature.
