There are workarounds to get it to run on newer systems and it is more than worth the effort.
I have gotten it to run on Vista with no problems, so Im sure you can figure it out Karth: No, you don't, basically all you need to know is this -> Hacker breaks into a corporate network's AI, removes morality constraints, AI goes nuts and tries to crash space station into earth, hacker destroys AI, but it somehow survives for a sequel SS1 Intro
I've downloaded the workaround for XP/2000, and it didn't help at all. When I start a new game the intro movie plays and then the game freezes. |

Caff, you have a single-core processor still. Worth nothing that if you have dual core, you need to set SS2 to run on one core it it will asplode.

Something I remembered... is that CoD4 should be played at least for the levels when the nuke is detonated. Playing a level where the whole point is to crawl out of the helicopter wreckage and look at your dead comrades, slowly dieing of radiation poisoning the entire time all from the first person viewpoint is quite the experience.

A soldier I think, which makes sense given the training that makes up the tutorial.
