So, I figure it'll be easy, right?  Black clothes, maybe a cowl, gloves, face paint, and a wig.  Any recommendations for a wig?  Is facepaint a good idea?  Should it just be pale instead of trying to match the hair?

Things like this can range from really low effort to very difficult depending on what you want to do, it sounds like you want to go for more of a dapper/formal wear look. Purple pimp suit maybe?

Id go with something that matches your clothing, short to medium length, then spiked up

No, source: tried it, dont do it. Make-up is fine though
