I thought it had been fairly common knowledge for a while. There was a load of talk about it on different forums some time ago.

The auto-updates are the best, one of the biggest barriers to mods other than visibility is getting all of the player base up to date when you patch

Yeah, that is the thing with a mod. You get people to download it once but they will never download it again to fix the level design or a problem or something. Just look at Portal Prelude or the Mother 3 translation, getting all done in one shot. By the way, I can only assume Steam will be hosting Portal Prelude then?

Dunno, steam would probably end up hosting it if they've already caught wind of it, if not it might be some time before they host it

So when will they actually be dl'able through steam, I click to the mod page and it just directs to the mod makers website.

Needs more Dystopia, the most under-rated HL2 mod ever.

Quote:As a part of our continuing efforts to support the MOD community, we will begin hosting selected MODs directly on Steam starting next week. The first five MODs to ship on steam will be Age of Chivalry, D.I.P.R.I.P., Insurgency, Synergy, and Zombie Panic. As always, owners of any Source game will be able to download and play all of these MODs for free.

LOLOLOL DIPRIP.  Can we finally play it or Insurgency now?
