Android apps - ainmosni - 12-08-2009 Post your favourite Android apps here and why you like them so much. For those of you that don't know if your phone runs android, there is a full list here. My favourites (I'm only listing stuff that wasn't included with the phone):
I'm considering writing my own android apps when I get some good ideas. So, what are your favourite android apps? Re: Android apps - CaffeinePowered - 12-08-2009 I might get one for christmas or with christmas money.....how easy is it to hack the piss out of this phone since verizon blows Re: Android apps - ainmosni - 12-09-2009 (12-08-2009, 07:14 PM)Caffeine link Wrote: I might get one for christmas or with christmas money.....how easy is it to hack the piss out of this phone since verizon blows Not too hard but afaik verizon didn't cripple their droids because of iphone envy.
That's what they said with the last phone I had....nope....want to back up my phone list, that costs extra, what to extract pictures, nope, you need to upload them to this website then download them (internet costs extra), want to use MP3s as ringtones or play them? - you need to buy them from our store, oh and those files are specially flagged so you can't use your own. God I hate Verizon Re: Android apps - ainmosni - 12-09-2009 (12-09-2009, 05:42 AM)Caffeine link Wrote:
Not too hard but afaik verizon didn't cripple their droids because of iphone envy. This means that your contact list is synced with google contacts and the android OS is fully unlocked. I might not like how apple has treaten the iPhone but apple had the power to say "you're going to offer the phone how we want to or we'll take our business to someone else" to AT&T which made all those US shenanigans harder to get away with. I only recently found out about the amount of money grubbing crap providers tried over there, here they just give us connectivity and nothing more. Re: Android apps - Vongore - 12-09-2009 This is not the Droid i'm looking for Re: Android apps - Versus - 12-12-2009 Other than a computer (which isn't technically a christmas present), I mostly just want a Droid. Re: Android apps - rumsfald - 12-12-2009 I tried a G1 at launch and then again 4 months later and returned both. I couldn't live with 2-3 hour battery life. BlackBerry has spoiled me with 2 day battery life (and keyboard). That said, I hope android devices (and os) continue to get refined. I want believe. My hero does more than a day with heavy use, 2-3 hour life would be unacceptable to me as well... The G1 is a first generation android device though, it's bound to have been very rough around the edges. I quite love my hero though, it's quite refined while the G1 looked a bit too rough. Re: Android apps - Versus - 12-25-2009 My Droid is awesome, those issues you were talking about, caff... On an unrelated note, the dude working there sounded exactly like pigmask. He talked exactly like pigmask. I bet I creeped him a bit because like the entire time I was staring at him with a O_O face, thinking "WHY IS PIGMASK HERE." Re: Android apps - [fr31ns]Karrde - 12-30-2009 Hmmmm, to those who bought a droid, whats the service cost per month for what you get? I kinda want a better phone, but hesitant about costs. Re: Android apps - Mission Difficult - 12-30-2009 Quote:Karrde link=topic=3947.msg129704#msg129704 date=1262189826] I think it's another $20-30 more a month for the data plan.
