Been reading about people who had under 30 FPS getting over 60 during the stress test, so I'm pretty excited. ;D
yeah, i reread the tweet and thread. DERP Re: Planetside 2 - CaffeinePowered - 11-12-2013 Optimization patch is NOW LIVE If you got shit performance when playing the game previously, download and give it another go. Boosts of between 25 - 100% FPS increases are being reported depending on your system and the settings. Re: Planetside 2 - Wedge - 11-12-2013 Game runs great for me. But then again, that has never not been the case. It's not crashing on exit anymore though!
I can confirm that my game at shit settings now has a huge increase from 15-ish FPS to 20-25 FPS in heavy fights and the appearance of previously nonexistent midgame crashes, which seem to be related to leaving FPS smoothing enabled. Cynicism aside, the game feels like it has less inexplicable performance dives and runs more smoothly overall. The game hasn't run this well on my machine since late beta / early launch. It actually felt like my small arms fire actually went where I fired, when I fired. The sound improvements are a nice touch too. Looks like the game is almost ready to be released! Re: Planetside 2 - Dtrain323i - 11-13-2013 I'm getting a pretty consistent 60 fps. It may drop down to 45 or 50 in large fights. If you have smoothing on it forces 60 as the max, turn smoothing off to see your actual FPS Re: Planetside 2 - Duck, Duck, Goose - 11-13-2013 I get 30 FPS more often than not on mostly High settings, up from averaging around 20-25 on Medium-High. Most noticeable when driving and flying. Large battles still drop my FPS, but this was just the first optimization patch, right? Full patch notes here in case anyone wants to see what they actually did. Quote:Squad deploy will no longer drop pod players into the center of a bases. It will instead spawn the player at the closest hard spawn point to the squad leader, which includes facility spawn points, deployed Sunderers, and squad spawn beacons Re: Planetside 2 - StolenToast - 11-13-2013 (11-13-2013, 12:51 AM)Didzo link Wrote:
The hilarious thing is that the better your performance was initially the better boost you will experience from the patch.
