Just a tidbit from my planetside days, always play the underpopulated/underpowered faction. More highly skilled players looking for a challenge gravitate toward it and over time as the game is "rebalanced" you're going to be the recipient of the most buffs.

THANK YOU CAFF

Re: Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR) - El_Fajitas - 09-03-2008

I'm pickin' the ugliest possible pew pew guy.  I wanna bolt crap into next Tuesday. 8)
Failing that, I'll make a healer.  ;D

Also, I'm up on waiting for Kyrie's super decision, so we can all finally have a single server decided.
Might as well eh?

Re: Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR) - copulatingduck - 09-03-2008

With the number of you guys getting excited about this game, I almost said I'd join you all. But I don't understand a fucking word that's been said in this thread.

And then I remembered I'd rather spend my money on beer.  :Smile :Smile :Smile

um wut. destruction far outnumbers order so far. so according to your logic we should all go order. also in retail the whole overpopulating thing won't happen, they have countermeasures in place to prevent one side from having more people than another, once it gets to a certain point of people on order compared to destruction, there'll be a queue for making an order character so that it doesn't get overpopulated like you're saying.

also post an intro, include how you found us, your first gaming interests and what got you into gaming, etc. etc

Re: Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR) - El_Fajitas - 09-03-2008

Well see Duck, MMO's are boring as hell if you're playing by yourself, it lacks a sense of uh, having an objective.  I only play the WoW's because my bro, his friend, and my weirdo friend play as well.  It's fun to do crap together. Even grinding! (But that's because I listen to Daft Punk while doing so).

Let's admit it, most MMO's don't need much skill.  If you can press the number 3 button repeatedly you can be a decent mage-type guy.

It's all on the friendly shit-talk.   :Smile

Edit:  And owning noobs.  That's always strangely satisfying.

Re: Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR) - CaffeinePowered - 09-03-2008

While I highly doubt Ill join in on this, Id like to encourage those of you that are to pick a server together and start a BrbU! guild/clan/outfit or what ever they are called in warhammer. If we start getting new people out of it Ill create a separate forum section and you guys can start scheduling your own raid nights, ect.

Re: Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR) - Mutt - 09-03-2008

that sounds like an excellent idea caff

Yea, but if that's the case I'd rather grind it in something that's free like Guild Wars. Course, as soon as you tell me "but that's shitty and no fun, WoW/Warhammer is better" you'll have refuted your own argument.

I await your response. Tongue

The reason why "free games" like guild wars aren't that fun is that you can burn out on them faster.  Few class choices, even fewer skills and weapons make for a MMO game that seems to require all the grind and even less reward.  Thats why EQ was and WoW is the king of MMORPGs because there are so many builds/items/skills to work towards.

But I have burned myself out on too many MMORPGs in the past.  I can't stand to play them anymore.

[/quote]guild wars is fun, fantastic art design and easy to run, only problem is the coolest classes are in factions and nightfall. It is nice that you can change your points as you wish though and you just have to get the money to buy skills for the attributes you switch 'em to.

and caff, I already thought about it, plus it's nice since we have vent for when we do scenarios.

Re: Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR) - Dave - 09-04-2008

you dont grind in guild wars

unless your a fucking idiot.

you do the missions, which are like levels in a game, you easily get to 20 this way, and you get to do different and interesting shit.

Well then it sounds better already. 8)

Re: Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning (WAR) - El_Fajitas - 09-04-2008

Which point should I refute?

I didn't join a free MMO like Guild Wars because the doods I wanted to play with were playing Warcraft.  ;D
