All you gotta do is be playing before, ask caff to warn you when he resets, disconnect, then reconnect immediately.  You can even bind a key to connect with password if you want to be sure.  It really is the only way.

Well, I wont be there unless the gods of steam allow me to update my steam client.  I needed to delete some files and it's happilly stcuk at 26%.  Hopefully it's just that the servers are down getting synced for the update.

As someone who came into the game and the community really late, I would hate to see someone be ousted or ignored simply because you don't recognize them. I've had this attitude brush up agianst me before (won't name names but someone gave me the big chew-out 'cause they thought I wasn't BRBu) and it felt really shitty.

I would REALLY hate for this to happen to someone else. I know what it feels like and I would hate to see this community close down their openness that I was initially drawn to.

Ok, suddenly I will be able to be there tonight.  Time to suck it up as a scout!

Lol, me and my friends originally tried to make the most plain names for tf2.

Geoff, Thomas, Wilson, and Matthew.

Also I liked Erosion as well. I like the organic layout. Also that one in the dessert-ish with the hanging sniper.

Since Geoff hasn't posted it to FPS Banana here's some feedback for you

Pros: Good layout, no FPS issues, nice looking. I think the detail overall is pretty good, there are a few textures here and there that look wonky, like the door with the 'No' hand on it directly across from spawn, but these are minor. Flows much better with the one-way access points and no-build areas. We need more push maps.

Cons: HUD not working properly, not sure if this is possible to fix, I thought they had updated the SDK so it would. I also do not like the lone sentry gun with no owner, I understand the purpose is to prevent a quick cap (and you can still go over it via the top path), but I think that if a scout runs through that front entrance and past the enemy, they deserve a clear run all the way back to the cap.

Improvements: Make sure the 'stairs' at the back of the map have no clip, can't remember if they did or did not, ignore this if they did. The other issue I think is that each team only has one way out of their base, but the other team has 3 ways in, every CTF map has some sort of 'sniper free' area people can run across on, I'd consider making some sort of 'under bridge' as a way to sneak across without detection or sniper fire.

Fix the bugs and we can put this up on vote

I both loved and hated the one we played that was the CP map going up the side of a mountain.  Mostly hated because of snipers.

Britney Spears sounds like it would be a terrible name and would belong to someone who makes terrible music.

Erosion. Imo it needs a lot of work balance wise because snipers own this map, and classes without mobility get raped hard with all the vertical movement (medic, heavy, engy, pyro to some extent, and spy to some extent, but ESPECIALLY MEDIC). You don't really want a map that's anti-medic. We should definitely look into cp_resonance, I have heard a lot of very good things about it.

Re: TF Tuesdays 2/24/09 - spider scoots - CaffeinePowered - 02-25-2009

We had resonance slated for a week, then the author changed the file and we skipped it, I'll check up on it next week

Rotation changes will be posted in this thread when I get home tonight

Yeah, sentry was definitely an experiment.  It proved kind of useless, if not OP, because most of the time lone scouts were met with instant doom by the enemy team.  Will remove.  Will also work on prettifying the textures a bit too.

Also, I have an idea on how to fix the hud not working.  I could tie blue and red flags to the neutral flag, on the same Y-axis, but position them way below or above the map.  It should work, I'm not entirely sure though.

The problem is one person can't carry two flags at once (I think), just because a flag changes position does not mean that it necessarily moves on the hud if its tied to a parent. You might be able to tie two invisible flags directly to the main neutral one, sort of like how a func_capture_area is tied to a flag in KTF.
