The requotes make such pretty windows, though.

Okay, STFU. TF2 is still broken and doesn't want to start

Didn't you have it working before, I could have sworn you got into a game a few nights ago. What are all of the steps you have taken thus far? We don't want to needlessly repeat something that didn't work

Actually, it's not MY PC, it's my gf's notebook, we installed Vista and now TF2 does this strange thing, we erased clientregistry.blob and nothing, we reinstalled and still nothing. What we did discovered is that when we put "dxdiag" on her cmd the diag doesn't detect any card. She doesn't have any separate card, only the one that comes with the motherboard (sorry, i forgot the name of the tecninsism in english. Integrated was it?)

So.. that :<

That would be an 'integrated graphics card', its probable that said card does not support TF2, have you tried running portal or regular HL2

If HL2 or portal runs, try forcing DirectX 8 on TF2, in the launch options you would have to put like -dxlevel 8 (is 7 possible?)

Yea, you can do 71 though it has almost no performance difference between that and 81. That said, have you always been playing TF2 on this computer Vongore? It sounds like the thing can barely squeeze out a few frames a second, I think I'd have more fun watching grass grow or birds fly...

It's his girlfriends laptop, not the desktop he actually plays on, try -dxlevel 71 as a launch option

AHAHAHAHA

My ancient Radeon X300 has version 2.0 :>.

Pretty much that card will not be able to run any games from this century.

The game used to run on Vista, but it was so laggy it wasn't playable, so we installed XP and tried to run it there and that appeared :<

Maybe you dont have the proper drivers for the card, if the OS and the game dont think the card supports the proper DX level because the drivers aren't correct that might be an issue.
