Not entirely, it depends on what people are looking at, if everyone is looking at the same thing, well you only need to render that once.

The coding to determine that might be an absolute nightmare, but it could be done

So Survivors is kinda like the Mercenaries from RE4 than?  And does that mean you are competing against each other then?

I love the audio from the Director's commentary, but I can't seem to find a short clip of it. When he says the email it sounds like "Gay Ben at Valve Dot Com."

It sounded to me like playing the final stage on a campaign, except the rescue never comes.

Ah it looks to just be like horde mode from Gears of War, seeing how long you can last the wave of zombies.  Not sure if it's a thing you win or just see how long it takes to die, but it could be alright.

If you use GCFScape, open the team fortress 2 content.gcf, and navigate to tf/sound/commentary/ you will find it in the file tf2-comment000.wav near the tail end.
