Then you can download the .pkm file, edit it in Pokesav or whatever program you prefer, then load the .pkm file into your account on the site and send it to your game through GTS again. I'd rather the RC abuse as it ensures that no other tampering happens. Re: brb, Pokemons - B&W Tournament - July '11 - Vongore - 06-07-2011 This might sound really whiny, but if there'sgoing to be a rule that accepts modifications i'm out. I quit from the pokemon competitive scene a couple years ago because of that and i decided to become a breeder B(. But now i0m giving it a second chance. So go Team Legit!! We can win this discussion! Re: brb, Pokemons - B&W Tournament - July '11 - Red Alert - 06-07-2011 Sign me up! Where do we post our FCs? Also, I noticed this: Quote:- Between rounds players are forbidden from adjusting their team in any way, including hold items, pokemon used, or order. Wifi battles have team view, though, which means there is no "order" in the first place. It isn't modding so much as just getting a whoooooooooooooole bunch of Rare Candies to get everything up to 100. Re: brb, Pokemons - B&W Tournament - July '11 - Marxo - 06-07-2011 I'm more for the bring 6 pick 3 method. Mostly because it requires me doing the least.  If we do end up doing the 6v6 engineered pokemon thing though, as Caff said, some of us will need help from those who have the devices needed to do such. I'm pretty sure they changed it so that EVs are calculated immediately, so leveling them to 100 first before EV training shouldn't matter. Other than that, I'm for the Rare Candy boosting. While GameFreak may have fucked up online play they did make it so you can reapply EVs at level 100, so there's no need to worry about anything. Ah...I didn't know you could mod things with that site, that's pretty nice. Actually I've already stated in the OP people can mod as much (or as little) as they want, provided the stats fall within statistical bounds (yes, you can set the IVs or EVs higher than the game allows), and the move sets / abilities are legit. All the IVs/EVs in the world aren't going to save you from having a bad strategy. Now, if you're concerned about the legitimacy of your own pokemon, what TOH posted might work well, you upload a copy to the pokecheck, then download and edit it's level to be 100, then redownload then as clones for the tournament. All you have essentially done is set a copy of your legit pokemon to 100, afterwords if you want just release the clones. Though this will be a moot point if the majority of people want to do bring 6 pick 3 Re: brb, Pokemons - B&W Tournament - July '11 - Red Alert - 06-07-2011 You don't need anyone's help to level your guys up to 100. You can use this site to make any pokemon you want at any level, and then have it sent to your game via GTS (no AR required). http://www.pokegts.us/pkmbw.php Re: brb, Pokemons - B&W Tournament - July '11 - ZargonX - 06-07-2011 It seems like the bring 6, pick 3 method will require the least hassle for everyone involved. Less hassle = more participation, so that may be the way we want to go. Re: brb, Pokemons - B&W Tournament - July '11 - CaffeinePowered - 06-07-2011 I also updated the OP with relevant dates & times Re: brb, Pokemons - B&W Tournament - July '11 - Red Alert - 06-07-2011 I'd prefer 6v6. Not quite as random, and it's not that hard to use a generator to make a lvl 100 team. Correct me if I'm wrong, but with that site you can't pick the pokemon name and only Japanese Gen V pokemon are available, so you're stuck with Japanese names. Re: brb, Pokemons - B&W Tournament - July '11 - sk8mystery23 - 06-07-2011 I STILL have a flashcart and I'm STILL willing to help people create pokemon. Although someone may need to link to to the newest program version.
That might be true. If you don't want to be limited in your options, you can use pokegen to make a pokemon however you like, then just upload it to the site with this: http://pokegts.us/upload_sign.php Re: brb, Pokemons - B&W Tournament - July '11 - Badgerman of DOOM - 06-07-2011 I'm for 6v6 level 100. Re: brb, Pokemons - B&W Tournament - July '11 - CaptainPlanet - 06-07-2011 Hey, interested redditor here. I'm more pro-bring 6/choose 3, since the flat battle (lvl 50s) promotes not pokesav-ing, and I think the challenge of IV breeding/EV training is all part of the competitive experience. But honestly I'm fine with either. But I do have a question about held items: are we going to use VGC rules, where you can't have more than one of each item? Otherwise, no matter the rule-set, people who don't pokesav will be at a disadvantage, as they won't have access to 3 leftovers or whatnot. Ah, I completely missed the item clause, updated the OP to reflect this Re: brb, Pokemons - B&W Tournament - July '11 - Red Alert - 06-07-2011 (06-07-2011, 03:23 PM)CaptainPlanet link Wrote: Hey, interested redditor here. Making it 6/choose 3 will probably not stop anyone from pokesaving if they were going to anyways. Re: brb, Pokemons - B&W Tournament - July '11 - Eschatos - 06-07-2011 I've been trying to use Pokegen to create randomized IV pokemon, and then upload them to pokecheck. No matter what I do I keep getting "Invalid terminator sequence in trash bytes." in the legality checker for the nickname, even if I didn't give the pokemon a nickname. Any tips? Breed an egg in game? Its something burried in the code the AR and other things can't reproduce IIRC Re: brb, Pokemons - B&W Tournament - July '11 - Eschatos - 06-07-2011 (06-07-2011, 07:38 PM)Caffeine link Wrote:
Breed an egg in game?
