Until they legalize real crack....depending on the coffee drink though, it can be better than say, a soda

Just regular coffee mixed with sugar, not too much to cover up the bitterness of the coffee.

Japanese are awesome and I don't think you can get it most places, for those of you that don't know Oolong is a rabbit that is in between a pancake and the carpet in terms of location.

Got one of these the other day, testing it out at work, so far it works pretty well, but I wish the metal thing at the bottom was larger, the plunger wont close completely if you are leaving leaves in for multiple infusions Sad

Re: Coffee & Tea Thread - Dtrain323i - 01-18-2010

If you want good chain store coffee, stay away from starbucks. Starbucks overroasts (read BURN) their beans. This gives it a very bitter flavor. If you don't think you're getting any caffeine from you coffee, try a lighter roast. The rule of thumb is: The darker the roast, the deeper the flavor will be, but it will have less caffeine in the bean.

Honestly, the best "chain store" coffee you can get in my opinion is Caribou. Their house blend is very good. Just stay away from their Kenya roast, it tastes like green beans.

I'm more of a meat and liquor guy and I want to get into Cigars.  The wife wont let me buy any  Sad

I have never been a Coffee guy, but I go through tea like nothing. I drink atleast a cup or 2 a day. And I only drink 2 kinds,

Red Rose, thanks in part to my mother and grandmother drinking it whenever we would sit down. Usually go with 2 Carnation Milk and 2 sugar. Sometimes honey is added for some oomph

And the Canadian Classic, Timmie Ho's. 2 Cream, 2 Sugar, and nothing tastes better

I don't know why but I still just can't enjoy any hot drinks.

Since you live in the icy tundra, get a mug of hot coco, then step outside and drink  Tongue

I still don't like it. I don't like coffee, tea, hot chocolate, anything like that. I'll sip tea but I don't really like it.

Re: Coffee & Tea Thread - SBCrystal - 01-19-2010

Today I decided to throw a herbal tea bag into my cafe press full of coffee...just to see what it would taste like.

It was...interesting. I mean, I couldn't really get over what I had done; the monster I had created in my ambition to have a fruity tasting coffee. Why? Oh why must man play God? When will we learn?

Re: Coffee & Tea Thread - KorJax - 01-21-2010

Oh god, I just discovered cheap awesome this morning.

Put a dash of creamer at the bottom of a cup, a few good tablespoons of White Chocolate Hot Coco mix (the "just add water" kind), and a dash of pure vanilla extrat into a cup, then filled the rest with coffee.

Mmm tasted like a good hot coco with a side of coffee.  I can never reproduce the "coffee" taste that my local gas stations get from their faux-cappuchino's they sell for 99c, but it still tasted good.  I probibly need to use less coco mix next time.

what you created is not too far off from a mocha. mmmmmm......mocha

Re: Coffee & Tea Thread - CaffeinePowered - 01-22-2010

Mocha = Steamed Milk + Chocolate + Espresso
Latte = Steamed Milk + espresso + a dash of milk foam
Hot Chocolate = Steamed Milk + Chocolate
Cappuccino = Steamed Milk + Espresso + Foam (50% Milk, 50% Foam)
Americano (sp?) = Hot Water + Espresso
Red Eye = Coffee + Espresso
Espresso (Manly) = Straight Espresso
