can't you turn on scaling or something? it'll put the black bars on the side of the monitor

Turn off scale-to-monitor-size (or "use centered timings", whatever the fuck) on your video card, maybe. Â I dunno, I've played it scaled so much on mine I don't even notice it anymore.
