It really shouldn't. You should just keep doing it for you as you say you do... who gives a fuck if people are still looking or want you to keep posting? If you love drawing then don't even worry about it. I don't.
If you want people to look at it or whatever, the best thing I find is actually to go comment on OTHER people's stuff on DA, because most people come back and return the favour at least once. Really its the only way I ever get any hits aside from the handful of friends who always say at least something.

Also, lol, whats up with all these schools blocking ports, we had absolutely nothing at UIUC when I went there, and still have nothing from what I have heard from friends still down there. Their solution to excessive torrenting was to limit the amount of bytes you could transfer in a 24-hour period, and that was piss easy to get around.
