Yea. When I say Crysis I am talking about the demo. If I bought the game and updated with all the patches I might get a better fps. I think I run it at 1440x900. Could be wrong.

Re: Can your pc handle Crysis on High settings? - [fr31ns]Karrde - 07-26-2008

I played the demo.  Things were ok on everything medium.  As soon as I hit the end of the first level, my fps crashed to sub 10.  Guess a 256 meg 8600m gt isn't quite cut out for it Tongue  Runs bishock half way decent though in DX10 mode.

Re: Can your pc handle Crysis on High settings? - Squishy3 - 07-26-2008

I can't run it on high as it is now, maybe with some overclocking from my super pc-whiz friend, I might be able to run it in at least 1024x768 on very high. his is similar to mine and currently runs it on very high at 1280x1024.

I think the best frame rate in TF2 I've ever got was like 30. 800x600, all low settings, and I struggle a lot to even play, especially considering my Internet being what it is.

Edit: So no.

I know I couldn't. I'm upgrading to a Geforce 8500 sometime soon though.

Not much of an upgrade. Sad
The only cards you should be considering in the 8xxx series are the 8800's. Especially after that overheating fiasco Surf posted about.

The forest stuff runs smoothly with high, but in the last place (not spoiling) the game lags horribly.

Re: Can your pc handle Crysis on High settings? - FlyingMongoose - 08-02-2008

Contrary to popular belief, Crysis is *NOT* CryEngine 2.0 (Far Cry 2 will be), it's actually just a 1.5 (bridge more or less), so I don't find it suprising people can run it on high settings at all.

I'm not sure if you're joking but it's pretty unlikely Ubisoft would be using Crytek technology after the split. Also, from the Crytek website:

Quote:Powered by CryENGINE 2™, Crysis delivers the ultimate DX10 gaming experience for the PC, including unparalleled graphics, special effects and artificial intelligence.

EDIT: from the Ubisoft site:

Quote:The Dunia Engine was built specifically for Far Cry® 2 by the award-winning Ubisoft Montréal development team.

As of right now, I doubt I could run it at medium.

Once I purchase my upgrades, I'll probably be able to run it near max settings.

lololol

Unless you are running a very high-end dual/quad-core with a few top-of-the-line cards in SLI, probably not. But high settings, sure. Tongue

Definitely not a very big upgrade, considering it's outperformed by cards from 5 years ago. You may want to rethink that.

Oh, and comp pre-accident, yus. Now, now, but hoping to get there again some time.

Re: Can your pc handle Crysis on High settings? - Duck, Duck, Goose - 10-14-2008

Blues is retarded.  ;D

Also, I have a reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally shitty card, so I doubt I can even run Crysis on lowmedium.
