This is a most excellent write up. Re: Dwarf Fortress - Chaosye - 07-16-2009 Tundra's are very difficult to live in. If so, you found what I was talking about. Re: Dwarf Fortress - Chaosye - 07-16-2009 You people had better be playing Dwarf Fortress RIGHT NOW Re: Dwarf Fortress - Creepy - 07-20-2009 Isn't the developer working on a big update right now? Re: Dwarf Fortress - Duck, Duck, Goose - 07-20-2009 brb.u boatmurdered? YES please. As long as no one pulls the lava flood... :-\ Re: Dwarf Fortress - Luca Shoal - 07-20-2009 (07-20-2009, 10:01 AM)Nitrous Oxide link Wrote: brb.u boatmurdered? YES please.Onoes, another goon. Nothing we could build would live up tp TRIBUTEWEAPON I think tho. Re: Dwarf Fortress - shoopfox - 07-20-2009 When I downloaded the tileset version I deleted it at first because I thought it was still the ascii version when I turned it on. DF could be fun but without a GUI and mouse control (and an in-game tutorial/help would be nice too) it seems like more of a hassle to play than anything else. Re: Dwarf Fortress - Professor Funbucks - 07-21-2009 2CAT! no seriously, I like the game...I've only really had fun in adventure mode though.. "You throw your longsword at Mayor Douchefag" "Douchefag's left eye was gouged!" "Douchefag's right eye was gouged!" "Douchefag's lungs were pierced!" "Douchefag's right and left ear fly off in a gory mess!" "Douchefag's head flies off in a bloody mess!" I'd gladly do it I slightly modded my game myself, though. Made a ton of creatures trainable and made all the megabeasts a ballston tougher so more live through worldgen. Not sure if I need to change back to normal to do a bloodline, unless everyone does the same mods. I FUCKING LOVE MY WAR DRAGON AND MY HUNTING POLAR BEAR Re: Dwarf Fortress - Sponson - 07-24-2009 This game is destroying my brain. I dont know what to think of it so far. Btw, if you want to do a bloodline, are we going to use modded files? I love modding the creatures so they can be trainable. Giant war cave spider, anyone? Re: Dwarf Fortress - Tragic Hero - 07-24-2009 I forgot how to play this game Re: Dwarf Fortress - Luca Shoal - 07-24-2009 Ehhh, maybe. But I dno how to make warmachine type constructs. Or something like TRIBUTEWEAPON Re: Dwarf Fortress - Chaosye - 07-24-2009 I don't know much about fancy constructs and giant war machines, but I do know how to build farms and a good army. >:D We had better be settling in a tropical area. That's where all the fun animals are. Unicorns, elephants, giant tigers, what's not to like? Oh, and we had better be playing with modded files. Make it so a ton of animals are trainable. Re: Dwarf Fortress - ZargonX - 07-24-2009 I'm still playing this game regularly, but I don't know how to do a bloodline game. Someone 'splain it to me Re: Dwarf Fortress - Chaosye - 07-24-2009 A bloodline is when one Fortress is played by numerous people. First, one person starts it and plays for a time (One ingame year, one season, etc.) Then, once that person's time is up, s/he gives the map and save data to the next person in line and s/he plays for the same duration of time, giving it to the next, and so on. Re: Dwarf Fortress - ZargonX - 07-25-2009 Ah, ok. Easy enough; sounds like the Legacy games I used to play in Civilization. Re: Dwarf Fortress - Eschatos - 07-25-2009 I'm really not that much of an expert. I pretty much got Luca started, then stopped playing regularly. Will try to catch up to yo skills. |
