Quote:Update: Due to a miscommunication, we had updated the original piece, stating that PC and Xbox 360 Survival Packs would be paid. However, Valve again contacted Edge to say that it hasn't ruled out the possibility of the price being "$0.00." Sorry for any confusion. Re: SDK and 2 new Campaings to be released this Spring - Spore - 02-05-2009 Also, Gamespy says it is free. http://pc.gamespy.com/pc/turtle-rock-project/951580p1.html Crisis averted? Re: SDK and 2 new Campaings to be released this Spring - Surf314 - 02-05-2009 So now that it is free I can complain about how long it is taking? Re: SDK and 2 new Campaings to be released this Spring - Honest - 02-05-2009 *shrug* I would have paid, though I got all my video game logic from FFXI, where not buying an expansion ostracized you from 95% of the community. Still, woo for things that should have been out 2 months ago. True. I wonder if Valve has gotten itself into a headlock? [/quote] It was one of the first things put up on XBL as charged downloadable content, they charged $5 for armor for your horse, that did absolutely nothing other than look cool. It would be like if all the custom skins and models on FPS Banana cost money. Anyway, I hope this means crisis averted, having to pay extra would suck balls. Given how I played the game, that would have been pretty sweet. Profit via horse filled with items instead of organs Re: SDK and 2 new Campaings to be released this Spring - Spore - 02-06-2009 Alright, it's all cool. The only reason they have to charge on xbox is because Microsoft's GREED is unimaginable. Re: SDK and 2 new Campaings to be released this Spring - VeraLapsa - 02-06-2009 Yeah Gabe said somewhere that free (major)updates like this one for the xbox is not in MS model and that Valve has to charge something for it even if it's 1 buck. One thing that could be done on the Xbox would be 4 person split screen co-op not just 2. I think that is more of a technical barrier than a software one. I mean, 4 screens means you are rendering everything 4 times right? Also, if 4 people are in different parts of the map it is of course having to have all parts of the map those people are in at onec instead of using swelltastic map optimizations Valve put in place for us. |
