It's supposed to be more about the human drama in a zombie apocalypse then crazy mindless action and gore. That's why it keys in on shit like people committing suicide, piles of bodies, dude not being able to shoot his zombie wife, etc. It's about being destroyed psychologically and having to rebuild your mindset to a completely different reality at odds with the one you are used to.

Anyways that's why I loved it so much, just like the comics it made the whole thing seem more real and intense than the average take on zombies.

Saw the first two episodes and I'm quite enjoying it. Definitely focuses on the more interesting aspects of the zombie apocalypse.

Watched the first episode, found it way too gory.
I like the part in the city where he climbs up into the tank.  That was cool.

Does it get less depressing?

P.s. I just walked in to a short-haired lady (from the camp) pickaxing her husband's face in over and over again.

it's not that gory, but my GF still needs to be drunk to watch it, which is mildly entertaining.  We went through a bottle of vodka last episode.

They've got a 13 episode 2nd season planned, but they just fired all the writers.

I like that as long as you're not swearing heavily or showing frontal nudity everything is A-OK on AMC. Zombies eating a horse? No problem. Hell, I bet they could run The Human Centipede with minimal censorship and cutting out footage.

I've read up to like, collection 13 or whatever (DC part), and I like how the series is going so far. It's different, sure, but it's going well.

so, watched the season finale tonight (yeah, we DVR them), the GF's comment was, "That sucked, they should have all died and started season 2 with new survivors"  I think she's been influenced by L4D.

I am angry and pretty much wish this didn't exist at all at this point.
