Damn you surf for complicating my choices 4870 for around $130 too (after shipping): http://www.eworldsale.com/powercolor-ax4870-1gbd5-radeon-hd-4870-1gb-gddr5-pci-e-20-x16-video_5882_46877.html EDIT: Doh, out of stock. It's $155 on newegg. Re: 5770 vs 4870 - Cloud_9ine - 04-06-2010 I was at this point last winter too with those choices. In the end I just got a 1GB 4870 due to the nice price and performance to go with what I need. I don't do massive resolutions though. At my smaller screens I can easily run games like crysis on very high. I do agree to just go for the 4870 if you don't have a massive monitor setup, then get the 4870 and wait for some real DX11 games. Re: 5770 vs 4870 - KorJax - 04-06-2010 Yeah but the link surf posts shows the 5770 being avalable for around $130 with free shipping, that's a damn good price and ends up being (slightly) cheaper than the 4870 which goes for $155. Looks better in OpenGL than DirectX. It's funny playing Half-Life in software mode too, now that we have processors capable of hitting the framelimit. Looks like a souped up Wolfenstein then.
