Again, if youl'd played the game, youl'd have seen you don't pick up anything.  Frankly it doesn't make any sense right now, but I guess they will be explaining it tomorrow.

Nah...he's saying he doesn't grind achievements, he just plays and likes getting them randomly, as do I. But unlocks have never been that important to me, the only ones I have are the pyro's.

The achievements have never been that difficult to get for any class, hence why it only ever took 20-30 minutes to unlock all the weapons for any given update. Now they've decoupled the unlocks from achievements, which is why most people are upset because it pushes the expected time to full unlocks from 30 minutes to only-valve-knows-when. It's fucking stupid and if you can't understand that well I dont know what to say

I appreciate that Valve added a new way for players like me to get weapons but it was a bad decision to get rid of the milestones. I don't see why they couldn't have both ways of unlocking weapons.

Hoping for a drop when you know where it will drop is shitty enough.  Random world drops are shit.  Also, nerf Warlocks.

Valve is supposed to do a blog post tomorrow explaining the new unlock system. Hopefully it's at least partially based on skill (like crits), but I have yet to see any sense to how new weapons are given out. I got the Ambassador while standing still during setup time; somebody else got one while they were dead; somebody got two FaNs when they already had it.

Added new revolver replacement, The Ambassador. First shot is very accurate and will cause a critical hit if it hits an enemy's head. Accuracy is poor for a period after that

I still haven't made it to the scouts second unlock from just trying for the achievements in normal play.  Do you farm all of them?  How do you get them so fast?

I have no idea where he gets that idea from, unless he means people just farmed them out, in which case you should be pushing for Valve to just give the new items to everyone, and not the stupid achievement unlock system (which I would agree with).  This random drop stuff is another new idea they are trying, and while it's obviously crap and buggy to start with, I think they obviously have ideas to try to do a lot more with it in the future.  Or who knows, maybe it wont' work at all and they'll drop it.  That's the approach they seem to take with the game, which is something really new to see for a game that doesn't have subscriptions tied to it.

Yeah update is full of bugs.  Will be waiting a bit I think.  Alex just told me he can do the spy taunt kill while fully cloaked.  Also it will instant kill a sentry.  LULULULULULLULULULULULUL.
