Re: 3D printing set-ups and stories - rumsfald - 07-26-2011 did you get yours yet? Re: 3D printing set-ups and stories - HeK - 07-26-2011 Parts of it. Still have to work out the electronics and the hot end. I've been updating the wiki with Atom's help with domestic part numbers. Re: 3D printing set-ups and stories - Surf314 - 07-27-2011 I'm really curious about this too. Maybe a project for next summer. Re: 3D printing set-ups and stories - [fr31ns]Karrde - 07-27-2011 WHich model are you making anyway, HeK? Also, assuming it works right and all, mind printing me a set of parts? I'll pay of course. It is by far the cheapest and most simple of the RepRap designs. It differs from the regular Mendel as it uses two Z motors instead of a complex alignment system. Re: Re: 3D printing set-ups and stories - at0m - 08-03-2011 Want. That is all. Re: 3D printing set-ups and stories - Sogo - 08-03-2011 3D printers eh? Re: 3D printing set-ups and stories - HeK - 11-30-2011 OK, so I finally got my parts to make the PCB for the Generation 7 electronics. I finished etching the board and drilling the 350-some holes in it. What's the operating cost of these things? like how much per average job? Re: 3D printing set-ups and stories - HeK - 12-01-2011 Depends on the amount of plastic required. Pricing for PLA for me is about $38/kg. It takes about 1/2 of that to make enough parts for a new printer. Finally a way to get spares of old/delicate/rare pieces, and pieces in colors they don't make. Re: 3D printing set-ups and stories - HeK - 12-04-2011 Now I gotta program that ATmega MPU. I only spent four hours fucking around with it and my PICKit2 programmer. Supported processor my ass. Now to cannibalize some stuff and make a parallel programmer. Re: 3D printing set-ups and stories - Kirby - 12-04-2011 Nice, those etched boards look so much better than the previous ones you made. Very clean Was gonna say fugly cleanup job on the boards, but I forget that not everything in the world is soaked in Ionox after soldering. |
